So crossing that milestone \u2014 <em>without<\/em>&nbsp;any marketing budget \u2014 is something worth talking about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2938606eb69061a7d1a695172769828a\">Our client, <strong>FGV<\/strong>, achieved this with their mobile game <strong>\u201cFGV Edugames\u201d<\/strong>, reaching 1K downloads within six months of launch \u2014 and they did it all organically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-38ddfce11a7a4fc8a9b543ca2b092c38\"><a><\/a><strong>How FGV Got 1K Downloads Without Spending a Cent<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ca6d65b49c5d140d1d1326b168fa1a59\"><a><\/a><strong>1. Internal Selling \u2014 A Lot of It<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-894bb876cdf4a12b56e1d9dd12e66d7c\">You might think, \u201cFGV has over 51,000 employees \u2014 getting just 5% to download should be easy.\u201d<br>&nbsp;In reality, it wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c6c308e5f1793fef6817ce393a3191b4\">It took strong <strong>top-management support<\/strong>&nbsp;and <strong>consistent internal promotion<\/strong>. External Evangelists<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c742cb67cbbd6fe0bb2e8039b707b3f3\">FGV\u2019s internal champions didn\u2019t stop there. Every Poster, Every Flyer, Every Chance<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2b9d65bb164ccb3f5635e11c390f4689\">Whenever FGV printed posters or flyers for events, they made sure <strong>FGV Edugames<\/strong>&nbsp;appeared somewhere on them \u2014 even if the event wasn\u2019t directly related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e67795e20c62c3878d8d483ab7b05a45\">Those small touches kept the game visible and constantly reminded people to try it out.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"578\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gameka.my\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/FGV3-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5753\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gameka.my\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/FGV3-1.png 578w, https:\/\/www.gameka.my\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/FGV3-1-300x197.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 578px) 100vw, 578px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-8c9e66d9f34423bfcfc652d9279c3a92\"><a><\/a><strong>What Could Have Been Done Better<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-47674877dc92b1cd4965e5f0a37722d1\">At launch, FGV successfully attracted <strong>media coverage<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 including outlets like <em>Utusan<\/em>&nbsp;and <em>The Malaysia Reserve<\/em>. The story got attention because <strong>it was the first game in the world themed around oil palm estate management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c5db17303c948501634fd87ed234156f\">However, one simple but critical thing was missing:<br>\u00a0\ud83d\udc49 <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.gameka.fgvedugames&amp;hl=en\"><strong><u>The download link.<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-87682fa5631643d2052ba683146871af\">Without a clickable link in those articles, interested readers couldn\u2019t immediately download the game.<br>&nbsp;It was a small oversight \u2014 but one that likely cost hundreds (if not thousands) of potential downloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-464e86e9921c8c8a6c9be0b3e3eb3a13\">Still, this is a common mistake for first-time app promoters \u2014 and an easy one to fix next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-f5e0bfc2039b46f988bc755fdf33c507\"><a><\/a><strong>Final Thoughts<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-ce6e950e760e1e2637da10e8379999ee\">So, what can you do if you want your app to hit 1,000 downloads with no budget?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-0456c6770b3697390679c2d045620c30\">Simple:<br>&nbsp;<strong>Do the selling yourself.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c9d86653bd6a7696dd4505e728b069d9\">Get your staff, partners, friends, and family involved. Post about it <em>shamelessly<\/em>&nbsp;on your social media.
